Shadi Ghadirian | Teheran, Iran 1974
Shadi Ghadirian si è laureata in Fotografia alla Azad University di Teheran. Al suo attivo ha numerose mostre sia in importanti Musei stranieri, come il Boston Fine Art Museum, il Victoria and Albert Museum e il British Museum di Londra, il Centre Pompidou di Parigi, l’Hong Kong Art Center, il CCCB di Barcellona, il MUMOK di Vienna, il Beirut Exhibition Center o il San José Museum of Art; che partecipazioni a Festival e Biennali, come la Biennale di Venezia (2015), Daegu Photo Biennale (2016), Chennai Photo Biennale (2019) International Photo Festival di Kusadasi in Turchia (2012), il Photo Espana Festival (2011), il Noorderlicht Photo Festival in Olanda (2007) il Photography Festival di Istanbul (2016 e 2007), la Photo Biennial di Mosca (2004) e quella di Lussemburgo (2004), la Sharjah Biennial (2003). Le sue opere fanno inoltre parte di prestigiose Collezioni Pubbliche come quelle del MUMOK di Vienna, del LACMA di Los Angeles, del British Museum, del Pergamon Museum di Berlino o del Smithsonian Museum di Washington.
Vive e lavora a Teheran.
Shadi Ghadirian graduated in Photography from Azad University of Teheran. She has had important exhibitions in many museums such as the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, the Victoria and Albert Museum and British Museum in London, the Centre Pompidou in Paris, the Hong Kong Art Center, the CCCB in Barcelona, the MUMOK in Vienna, the Beirut Exhibition Center and the San José Museum of Art. She has participated in numerous festivals and biennials, such as the Venice Biennial (2015), Daegu Photo Biennial (2016), Chennai Photo Biennial (2019), International Photo Festival of Kusadasi in Turkey (2012), PHotoEspaña Festival (2011), Noorderlicht Photo Festival in the Netherlands (2007) the Photography Festival of Istanbul (2007 and 2016), Photo Biennial of Moscow (2004), Photo Biennial of Luxemburg (2004) and the Sharjah Biennial (2003). The MUMOK in Vienna, LACMA in Los Angeles, the British Museum, the Pergamon Museum in Berlin and the Smithsonian Institution in Washington have all acquired works by her for their permanent collections.
She lives and works in Teheran.
