Davide Bramante | Siracusa, 1970

 

 

Davide Bramante has worked and lived in Turin, Rome, Bologna, Milan, London and New York. After graduating at the Accademia Albertina di Belle Arti of Turin (1995), he began to travel between Italy and the United States. In 1998 and 1999 he won two scholarships at the prestigious Franklin Fournace Foundation and participates in a group exhibition at the MOMA in New York.

Since 1991 he experiments with various media: video (from 1992 to 1995 with the Group ANDA he has developed interactive video installations and more than 20 video works); materic installations; environmental installations such as Isola dei Pirati, realized in one night for the streets in Venice with 2000 pirate flags.

He has made more than seventy solo and group shows held in museums, foundations and galleries around the world, including Galleria di Arte Moderna in Sarajevo (1998), Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa in Venice (1999), Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Rome (2001), GAM in Bologna (2001), Palazzo delle Papesse in Siena (2003), KunstHaus Tacheles in Berlin (2005), Palazzo della Permanente in Milan (2006), Palazzo Re Enzo in Bologna (2009), PAN in Naples (2012), Schauwerk Foundation in Sindelfingen (2013), Museo di Trastevere in Rome, (2014) Bongsan Cultural Center in Busan/Korea (2014).

He has participated in numerous fairs, including Art Basel, Art Cologne, Artissima, MiArt, ARCO, FIAC, Palm Beach 3, Paris Photo, MIA&D Fair Singapore.

Today Davide Bramante is internationally recognized for its large format photos portraying metropolitan cities around the world, made with the analogue technique of the multiple exposure during shooting, result of multiple shots - from four to nine - on the same frame.

Always the artist tries to live within his work the three things he loves most: art, photography and travel.
